Tactile Studio
Tactile Studio is a design agency and workshop specialized in inclusive and multisensory design for museums and cultural institutions. Founded in 2009 in France, it is now based in France, Germany, the US, and represented in the Netherlands. Since its creation, the agency has been committed to making culture accessible to all audiences, especially people with disabilities, through the design and production of sensory exhibits and inclusive, interactive experiences.
We have worked with leading museums across Europe and internationally, including the Musée du Louvre (Paris/Lens/Abu Dhabi), Gruuthuse Museum (Bruges), Humboldt Forum (Berlin), Burrell Collection (Glasgow), and Dutch institutions such as NEMO Science Museum and the Rembrandt House Museum in Amsterdam, where we created sensory trails with 3D models and olfactory stations. We also designed the inclusive signage for the Athletes' Village of the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris.
We collaborate with Dutch partners like Kiss The Frog in Delft or Hypsos in Utrecht, companies specializing in creating exhibitions, who need our expertise in accessibility and inclusion. In early 2025, we gave lectures on inclusive design at Maastricht University's Arts and Culture Master's program and at the Communicatie & Multimedia Design Hogeschool Rotterdam.
