Dassault Systemes & TU Delft

As the engineering skills shortage continues to grow and threaten key industrial sectors such as the Aerospace, Automotive or Maritime, the French software company Dassault Systemes and the Dutch University of TU Delft decided to collaborate to support the development of software engineering skills in the Netherlands and contribute to the reduction of the announced skills gap in those sectors.
Dassault Systèmes and TU Delft partnership started in 2004, as the software company sponsored projects and provided its 3D design and simulation software, to TU Delft engineering school student teams.
From 2006, this partnership continued to gain momentum as TU Delft University started to implement and use Dassault Systemes software not only for student projects but also for teaching purposes. Since 2020, all Bachelor students taking the Engineering Drawing course are using and being taught on the company’s software.
Besides the fantastic learning and teaching experience that this partnership provides to the students and their professors, it also aims to support sustainable innovation within originally non green manufacturing industries as students are able to create real-life sustainable engineering improvements on the digital side first, before manufacturing them at full scale.
