The partnership between Bluelands and Oppy International emerged from a shared vision: to tackle the housing crisis and climate challenges through scalable, resilient solutions. We are pioneering a movement that addresses urgent societal needs with affordable, fast-to-build homes on water, tailored for the next generation. By leveraging underutilized waterways, we aim to redefine how and where buildings can thrive.
Oppy recognized the transformative potential of Bluelands' technology - a patented floating platform that unlocks the use of inland waterways for sustainable, affordable housing where traditional construction is no longer viable. This alignment of missions led to a dynamic collaboration focused on bringing this innovation from concept to reality.
Our collaboration culminated in a successful pilot research project at The Green Village, TU Delft, where we demonstrated the feasibility of our solution. Bluelands provided the floating platform and engineering, while Oppy played a crucial role in connecting the foundation technology to the right stakeholders and partners for the superstructure development and on-site implementation.
