Nieuw Lid MKB | International French School of Amsterdam

[Translate to Néerlandais:]

The International French School of Amsterdam is a French school with an international reach and a member of the International Education Group (IEG) network of schools. The school is a partner of the AEFE (Agency for French Education Abroad), which prepares students for official French qualifications. Ultimately, the school will offer the full range of classes from petite section to terminale (age 18). The International French School of Amsterdam is an innovative educational model that combines French academic excellence with the vision of international education. Combining the best of both worlds constitutes our school’s unique pedagogical experience, which is based on the following three main pillars:

   1. Academic Excellence

The International French School of Amsterdam follows the French National Education program and guarantees its students an excellent education based on a perfect grasp of the French language as well as the French academic programs. The International French School of Amsterdam is not reserved to only French-speaking students. It is an international school, open to all nationalities and languages. In order to streamline and fast-track our students’ integration, we have established a unique program called “the gateway program". This system allows our non-French speaking students to benefit from accelerate French language courses.

    2. Bilingualism

Bilingualism is at the heart of the school's pedagogical project. In pre-school and Elementary school, our students will receive a perfectly bilingual education in French and English. In middle school, the weekly hours of English will be increased up to 8 hours per week. This includes hours of teaching of a non-language course in English. The linguistic policy of the International French School of Amsterdam is not limited to English only, we also offer courses in Dutch starting at the pre-school level and other languages once in middle school, such as Spanish.

   3. Creativity and entrepreneurial Spirit

The development of fundamental skills such as creativity, critical thinking, curiosity and entrepreneurial spirit are essential to prepare our students to be citizens of the world of tomorrow. That is why the International French School of Amsterdam has set up an engaging and project-based curriculum, which teaches through experimentation and hands-on learning, allowing our students to be active participants in their own education.
