French courses by native speakers from beginners to advanced. Courses online and at our school in the Jordaan neighbourhood of Amsterdam
- Our Courses are Based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
- Small group training in a focused environment. Maximum of eight students per course.
- French courses for children & Teenagers. Maximum of eight students per course.
A1 Beginner
The aims of A1 are to be able to: Recognise and use familiar words and simple phrases for concrete purposes. To be able to introduce yourself or someone else. Ask and answer basic questions about home, family, surroundings, etc. Communicate in a basic way when the other person speaks slowly and clearly and is ready to repeat or reformulate to help communication.
A2 Elementary
We focus on interacting in French and practising with games and role-playing. If you have learnt some French but still feel uncomfortable to speak, this is the perfect course for you. Gain confidence and speak French with our theatre teacher! This course is excellent preparation for the oral exam of the DELF level A.
B1 Intermediate
On completion of our course you’ll be able to do the following: Understand the main points of clear standard communication on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc. Deal with most situations likely to arise while travelling in an area where French is spoken. Be able to produce simple connected text on topics that are familiar or of personal interest. Describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes and ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.
B2 Upper intermediate
Understand the main ideas of complex text both on abstract and concrete topics, including technical discussions in your own field of work or study Interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers possible without strain for either party. Can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the pros and cons of various options.
C1 Operational proficiency or advanced
The aims of C1 are to be able to: Understand a wide range of long and complex texts, including any subtextual or stylistic nuances. Express yourself freely and fluidly, without obviously fumbling for words. Use the language effectively and fluently in a social, professional or academic context. Speak in a clear, organised way about complex subjects, developing a well-structured argument.
