Behavioural Science Hackathon in Amsterdam: bring your sustainability challenge to 100 students

From 23 to 27 November 2026, Behaven and EDHEC Business School are bringing together around 100 master’s students in Amsterdam to tackle real-world sustainability challenges. We are looking for two Amsterdam-based organisations willing to entrust them with a live case. Participation is entirely free of charge.
How it works
Behaven, a B Corp-certified consultancy, applies behavioural science to sustainability challenges. Over one week, students use its tools (including the Rainbow Wheel™) to understand what holds back sustainable behaviours, design practical interventions and present them as pitches. This format has already proven its worth at EDHEC since 2022, as well as in Hong Kong and Abu Dhabi.
What you get
Your challenge is analysed in depth by at least six student teams. You receive an in-depth behavioural analysis and practical recommendations on your issue, along with a fresh and creative perspective on your organisation. You also meet the next generation of talent. All of this comes at no cost to you.
“Impressive work in such a short time! We are already integrating several of these ideas into the design of our new webshop.” (Malva Groothuis, Versuni / Philips)
What we ask of you
- A brief on a sustainability issue. No behavioural science expertise is required: the Behaven team will help you turn it into a behavioural challenge.
- A welcome for the students at your Amsterdam premises for a visit.
- Ideally, your presence to brief the students at the kick-off of the hackathon, and later to listen to their pitches.
Only two places available.
