French Connections event at Damen Shipyards

Evenement gesponsord door Damen Shipyards.

We hope that you have enjoyed the French Connections event at Damen Shipyards last Tuesday.
We would like to give a special thanks to Reinier van Herel, Directeur Régional France and the whole team of Damen Shipyards for welcoming us in their headquarters in Gorinchem and guiding us around on the shipyard.

Damen was established by the two Damen brothers back in 1927 and has grown into a multinational shipbuilding group with more than 9.000 employees at 32 yards on 5 continents. In France Damen owns two Shiprepair facilities in Brest and Dunkerque.

Damen has acquired a leading position in shipbuilding, based on its unique, standardised design concept. This modular construction approach gives Damen the ability to offer their customers well-proven, innovative vessels at competitive prices. Damen provides hulls and components from stock, leading to very short delivery times.

Even though Damen is a major international group, it is still a family-owned company with a deep respect for their maritime heritage. Everyday they continue to build up their knowledge base to make sure that they remain ahead with technological developments.

After the presentation, wearing the blue Damen helmets, we started the tour on the shipyard. We were able to discover the different types of ships Damen builds for various sectors, from leisure till defence & security. We ended this French Connections sunny day with a networking cocktail on the outside terrace facing the river the ‘Waal’.

We hope that you had a very interesting afternoon and we invite you to take a look at the pictures of the event here.

We are looking forward to seeing you at our next event, Cocktail Mazars, October 11th 2016!
