A Decade of Franco-Dutch Innovation: Redefining the Future of Gas Management
The collaboration between Schneider Electric (French company) and Gasunie (The Netherlands) began in 2015, born from a shared vision to bring the digital intelligence of the electrical grid to the world of gas infrastructure. By merging Schneider Electric’s world-leading expertise in Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS) with Gasunie’s unparalleled mastery of gas transport, we embarked on a unique 11-year journey of co-development.
Main Objectives: The partnership was established to break traditional silos and create a first-of-its-kind Advanced Gas Management System (AGMS). Our primary goals were to:
Digitalize the Grid: Transition from legacy systems to a fully integrated, real-time digital twin of the gas infrastructure.
Enhance Operational Excellence: Develop high-fidelity tools like the SIMINT training simulator to ensure the highest safety and efficiency standards for operators.
Enable the Energy Transition: Build a flexible, "multi-gas" platform capable of managing the complexities of the future energy mix, including hydrogen and green gases.
Today, this collaboration stands as a benchmark for European industrial partnership—proving that when French digital innovation meets Dutch infrastructure excellence, we create the resilience needed for the global energy transition.
