In the Netherlands, Elektro Internationaal is our strategic partner for panel building and AC/DC microgrid integration. Together, we share the ambition to accelerate the energy transition by developing practical, scalable solutions that help customers become more resilient and less dependent on the public grid. This ambition is brought to life through a unique reference project: a fully operational AC and DC microgrid running side by side. A microgrid is a local energy system that combines generation, storage and intelligent control, enabling reduced dependency on the public grid. By testing both AC and DC architectures, we can determine which solution is best suited for specific applications, where we together can educate the market. DC is increasingly relevant as solar panels, batteries and electric mobility operate natively on direct current, reducing conversion losses. The site uses a fully integrated Schneider Electric solution, including Energy Management and Building Management systems. This joint Microgrid Live Lab provides the market with practical insights to support and shape the new energy landscape and address grid congestion challenges in the Netherlands.
