Rob Postma is Managing Director of Airbus Netherlands BV, the largest space company in the Netherlands and supplier of high-tech products and services for the international aerospace industry. In this capacity, he is responsible for the management of the Leiden-based company, which employs around 265
engineers at the production facilities in Leiden and Oegstgeest and at the Main Operating Base of the Multinational MRTT Fleet in Eindhoven. Airbus Netherlands, which is part of the Space Systems division of Airbus, develops solar arrays, launcher structures and technology for earth observations and optical communication.
In addition to the portfolio of space products that it is well-known for, Airbus Netherlands is increasingly involved in domains such as sustainable aviation, pubic safety & security, the MRTT fleet, cybersecurity and helicopters. Before joining Airbus Netherlands, Rob Postma has held various positions within the international Airbus organisation since 2007. He served as VP Head of Governmental Export Business for Airbus’ division Space Systems, overseeing global business development and marketing and sales activities of earth observation and telecom satellites for national space agencies and military organizations. Previously, Postma was responsible for business development and sales for Earth Observation, Navigation & Science and for the sale of intelligence based on data from space in the EMEA and Latin America regions.
In addition to his daily commitment to the teams of Airbus Netherlands, Rob Postma is responsible for the Roadmap Space within Holland High Tech and member of several advisory councils, such as the Advisory Board of Royal Netherlands Aerospace Centre NLR, the strategic advisory board of TNO Industries, the Advisory Council Aerospace Engineering of Delft University of Technology, the NSO Stakeholder Consultation Platform, the Eurospace Council, the Taskforce Technological Industry of Economic Board Zuid-Holland and the Advisory Board of the Dutch Air- and Aerospace Foundation NLF.
