E-lympic: The Future of Urban Mobility | TotalEnergies

Amsterdam's E-lympic hub brings ultra-fast EV charging, shared mobility and smart energy together, shaping the future of sustainable urban transport.

E-lympic is a new fully electric mobility hub being developed by TotalEnergies at Amsterdam's Stadionplein in partnership with the Municipality of Amsterdam, Greenwheels and Check. Scheduled to open in January 2027, it will replace the existing fuel station with a multifunctional hub offering ultra-fast EV charging (up to 800 kW), shared cars and bicycles, electric boat charging, and customer facilities such as a convenience store with seating.

The project is designed as a model for sustainable urban mobility by integrating electric transport, smart energy management, local solar generation and battery storage to help reduce pressure on the electricity grid. It also serves as a "living lab" where innovative mobility solutions can be developed and tested for wider application in urban environments.

E-lympic supports Amsterdam's goals of creating a more sustainable and space-efficient city by combining multiple mobility and energy services in a single location. Community engagement has been an important part of the project, with more than 130 local residents and businesses contributing feedback during the planning process. This has led to initiatives such as accessible shared transport for residents with limited mobility and the appointment of a community ambassador to maintain dialogue with the neighborhood.

The project reflects TotalEnergies' broader strategy to accelerate the electrification of mobility while integrating renewable energy generation, energy storage and charging infrastructure. In the Netherlands, the company operates across the full energy value chain and is investing in technologies including EV charging, biogas, hydrogen, wind energy, battery storage and carbon capture and storage as part of its contribution to the energy transition.
